This is quite fun for me :D

I don’t know why, but some people I know think that I’m a feminist or something like that. LOL. But of course I am, in a way that I am a female, so that I, of course, would appreciate it more when the opposite gender respects me. If they don’t, I don’t really care enough because it’s their problem. Really. It’s the same way I treat my fellow gender, all women out there. I respect both men and women the same, when they respect me for the same reason that all human beings should respect each other.

I have always believe in equality, and I also believe that men are stronger that I can ask them to help me carry heavy bags, for example. I also believe that a woman can create a plane as smart as a man, but it’s just that planes are not really a woman’s thing. As simple as that.  But I really don’t appreciate men (and women) who smoke in public places, or people (men and women) who don’t care about their environment, or people (men and women) who treat others badly (For example, people who iron their servant! Really a pshyco!)

Believe it or not, but when I learned what some people think of me, that’s when this ‘aha moment’ (like what Oprah has always said) came to me.  It’s like, "WHOA!!! I am a feminist??? You must be kidding, right?" :D That’s when I realize that what an independent woman I must look like to others. Perhaps.

I was gigiling all the way home to this thought.

Gosh, do you know how neater it is for me that my nextdoor roommate is a man so I can ask him for help anytime, rather than a woman who might gossip all the way? (Not that I really hate gossip…hahaha!)  Or that I feel safer that there are some guards (men, of course) in my housing complex?

Respect each other is the key. Trust me.

Jakarta government has been eager to solve the pathetic traffic jams in the city by building a mass transport called busway. Despite of some negative responses, the project is still on and will stop until it’s finished :D

Honestly, I find this project is good if it really will decrease the use of personal vehicles in the future. This will decrease the pollution, I hope, which is my real concern. I have been hoping that the government will come out with more great ideas for the environment in the near future. One of the ideas I dream of is vehicles from solar energy, no pollution. Or a ’bikeway’ with trees along the way. (Dream on…. :P )

The thing is, our society hasn’t really cared enough about pollution. We are still in ‘material level’. Having a vehicle (a car or motorcycle) is a prestige and I bet everyone wants to have their own vehicles not just because they really really need it (of course, who doesn’t need a car?) but because they deserve to have one, it’s a symbol of success.

I hope we are moving fast to the next level, where we think about how to decrease the pollution with the vehicles we have. Perhaps by using an unleaded gasoline? Or using the vehicles when in crisis only?

Back to the ‘Project Busway’, I hope it will be a successful breakthrough. It depends on everyone, though. How about you?

It took about 5 hours instead of the normal 2 to my home last Saturday. It was raining cats and dogs, and the strong wind made it worse. Trees were falling down and flood was unavoidable in some areas. Along the streets i looked at the drains, ditches, gutters, sewers, or any places where the water runs. Gosh… they were full of garbage!  Okay, I wasn’t that shocked because those views were so… NORMAL here…. I was just… sad.

I have problems with garbage, too, at home. I have a garbage bin which I built outside my fence. I always carefully sort out my garbage. I try to throw out garbage made from plastic to the bin, and I bury disposable garbage under my mango tree. The problem is, my neighbours throw their garbage in my garbage bin because they don’t have one at home. I wouldn’t mind as long as they keep their garbage clean (isn’t it ironic… garbage and clean???). That isn’t the case. My garbage bin is dirty and full of my neighbour’s ruined (i don’t know if it’s the right word) and stinky garbage.

I suppose I should destroy the bin….
