If I only knew….
The world has lots of big problems that probably many people now think that those problems will never be solved. More people become so apathetic and pessimistic when they think about it. Drought in Africa and millions people go hungry? Horrible situation in refugee camps? Irreconciable wars in more parts of the world? Neverending pollution? Global warming? Too big problems to even think about?
Why don’t we try from little things? Besides, it’s little things that matter, right?
Like yesterday. As I entered the office’s bathroom, I heard the drops of water in a bucket where noone was inside. I looked inside and found that the water was already running out of the bucket and a pool of water was already all over the floor. I thought noone checked. Or noone bothered. Or worse, NOONE CARED.
Yes, noone cared. There must be over 50 female employees in my floor who use the bathroom. One of us should have let the tap on. One or a few of us should have heard or seen but didn’t care enough to turn it off… until the water was flooding. Such a waste… especially when we think about many people who live in a very dry area with scarce water.
Why am I feeling so sad?
It is a shocking report. The female polar bears in the North Pole are skinnier than ever. The various dieting programs have succeeded in even persuading a bear to go on a diet? Or has television come into the bears’ life? Don’t laugh. I think it’s not funny.
The global warming makes the ice in the North Pole melting more than ever. The polar bears need the ice to hunt for seals. They will wait patiently over the ice surface near a hole where seals show up their face to breathe. But now there are more holes, and bigger, and so the seals can see the bears waiting for them just before they reach the holes. "Goodbye, lunch!" the bears might sigh.
Skinny female bears mean no offsprings. Yes, it’s difficult for skinny bears to bear children. (Such a rhyme!)
Polar bears might extinct in no time!
(I wish more people walked to nearer destinations rather than riding on their vehicles… that helps a lot, trust me.)
